Early Childhood Teacher - Mansfield Rudolf Steiner Kindergarten

Part-time 0.6 - 0.8 FTE, Ongoing - (Possibility for Term 4 2024 Start) Reports to: Director of Early Childhood

 

Mansfield Rudolf Steiner School requires an Early Childhood Teacher to join the Mansfield Steiner School Kindergarten team, as a three-year-old Teacher. Our Kindergarten operates on a sessional basis, offering programs for both three-year-olds and four-year-olds based on the principles of Rudolf Steiner. We are committed to fostering a warm and nurturing environment that encourages imagination and wonder in each child.

We are looking for passionate individuals with a strong interest in Steiner/Waldorf Early Years Education. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor of Early Childhood and be willing to undertake Steiner Education training. This part-time position involves 3-4 days including both contact hrs and planning time.

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • Work with a Steiner-based educational program in collaboration with parents and educators that is culturally respectful, inclusive, and tailored to the individual developmental needs and interests of the children. The program will align with the Victorian and National curriculum frameworks (VEYLDF and EYLF) and incorporate the service’s Steiner philosophy and policies.
  • Demonstrate a calm and courteous demeanor, with effective communication skills when interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Maintain the daily rhythm, including activities, morning circle, Storytime, free play, and caring for the indoor and outdoor spaces.
  • Attend staff meetings, and festivals, and commit to ongoing self and professional
  • Operate professionally, ensuring the service complies with legislative requirements. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Be accountable to the Educational Leader for the delivery of the educational
  • Fulfill responsibilities and activities associated with being a Nominated Supervisor, adhering to the requirements of national laws and regulations.
  • Act within the authority delegated by the Director in urgent situations, ensuring compliance with the Act and Regulations.

 

 

 

  • Adhere to the service’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, operating within budget allocations and financial policies.
  • Play an active role in developing and implementing the Quality Improvement Plan of the service.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information, following the service’s privacy
  • Work in accordance with the standards outlined in the Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Code of Ethics, the Victorian Institute (VIT) Code of Conduct, and Mansfield Steiner School and Kindergarten’s Child Safety policies.

YOUR BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Education in Early
  • Current First Aid Qualifications (HLTAID012/004).
  • Certificate in Early Childhood Steiner (Or a commitment to work towards this)
